WorkRide
A NZ salary sacrifice scheme that lets you get a new bike through work — and pay for it before tax.
WorkRide lets your employer buy a bike or e-bike on your behalf, which you then repay via a reduction in your pre-tax salary over 12 months. Because the repayments come out before PAYE and ACC levies are calculated, the effective cost of the bike drops by your marginal tax rate — typically 32–40% for most NZ workers.
Any employer can register, the paperwork is minimal, and there’s no cost to the employer. At the end of the lease you have the option to purchase the bike outright.
Savings depend on your income, KiwiSaver rate, student loan status, and other deductions — the WorkRide website has a proper calculator that accounts for all of these.

More people on bikes = more rides in our counter data. Funny how that works.
